KATANA DOJO

KATANA Sports Club is a Kyokushin Karate club based in Koziatyn, Ukraine, combining athlete development, competition, and character building through the core values of Kyokushin: discipline, respect, perseverance, and self-control.

The club is led by Anna Kostiantynivna Sas-Zaliubovska, a 1st Dan black belt holder, Master of Sport of Ukraine, and eight-time Ukrainian Champion. She has practised Kyokushin Karate since 2010 and has nine years of coaching experience with different age groups. She has won Ukrainian Cups and national tournaments and was a member of the Ukrainian national team. Anna holds qualifications in social pedagogy and a master’s degree in physical education and sport.

Training includes kihon, kata, kumite, and general physical conditioning, developing strength, endurance, speed, coordination, and confidence. The club places emphasis on discipline, responsibility, respect for training partners, and perseverance. The aim is to guide students from their first classes to sporting achievements while helping them become determined individuals who believe in their abilities.

KATANA athletes actively compete at tournaments of different levels, regularly earning podium finishes and gold, silver, and bronze medals. In 2026, the team won 13 medals at the Mukachevo Open Cup, while six athletes earned silver medals at the Ukrainian Championship.

The club also organises its own tournament, KATANA CUP. On 6 June 2026, the event in Koziatyn brought together 270 athletes from 10 teams representing six regions of Ukraine. KATANA DOJO athletes won 76 medals: 28 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze. The tournament supports the development of Kyokushin Karate in the region and gives athletes an opportunity to test their skills and gain valuable competition experience.
