MUROMETS-1999 is a Kyokushinkai Karate club based in Kyiv, Ukraine, dedicated to martial arts training, physical development, and building strong character. The club works with children and teenagers, helping them improve endurance, coordination, self-confidence, and self-defence skills.
The club's coaches are Andrii Gerken and Yaroslav Martynovych. Their approach focuses not only on technical development but also on discipline, responsibility, respect for training partners, and the ability to overcome challenges. Training is suitable for beginners taking their first steps in karate as well as athletes seeking to improve their skills and compete.
The training programme includes fundamental techniques, kata, kumite, general physical conditioning, and practical self-defence skills. Athletes take belt grading examinations, attend training camps, and participate in tournaments at various levels. The club also organises annual sports and recreational camps for its students and their families, combining karate training with outdoor activities.
MUROMETS-1999 has a record of successful performances at city, Ukrainian national, and international competitions. Its athletes have won medals at Ukrainian, European, and World Championships and Cups. At the Mіts Stolytsi national tournament in Kyokushinkai Karate, the team earned 10 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals. At the Tiger Heart Cup, the club finished second in the overall team standings among 14 teams. These results reflect systematic athlete preparation and the coordinated efforts of coaches and students.
The club's mission extends beyond developing medal winners and champions. MUROMETS-1999 aims to help young people become healthy, confident, and determined individuals. Through martial arts, the club encourages every student to keep progressing, set new goals, and develop both physical strength and inner resilience.
