SC “Kyokushin”

Kyokushin Shumen is a Kyokushin Karate club based in Shumen, Bulgaria, led by Sensei Stanislav Dimitrov. The club develops athletes across different age groups, combining the traditions of Kyokushin Karate with systematic sports training and participation in national and international competitions.

Stanislav Dimitrov is an experienced coach whose work with young athletes has received national recognition. In December 2024, he received the “Golden Belt” award in the “Best Coach of the Year” category from the National Association of Combat Sports in Bulgaria, recognizing his achievements in coaching successful competitors.

Among the club’s outstanding athletes is Viktor Kolev, the 2024 KWF European Champion, winner of the Varna World Cup and the IFK Balkan Championship. In 2024, he was also named Shumen’s Athlete of the Year. Another club athlete, Kristiyan Ivanov, took part in specialized international training in Georgia in 2025, where he trained under world champion Tariel Nikoleishvili. Other athletes trained by Stanislav Dimitrov include Dimitar Dimitrov and Nikolay Stanchev.

Training includes kihon, kata, kumite, physical conditioning and focused work on strength, endurance, coordination and fighting skills. Particular emphasis is placed on discipline, perseverance, self-control and respect for opponents.

Kyokushin Shumen offers opportunities for both beginners and competitive athletes aiming to achieve high sporting results. Under the guidance of Stanislav Dimitrov, the club develops motivated athletes and contributes to the growth of Kyokushin Karate in Bulgaria.
