Satori

Satori Sports Club is a Kyokushin Karate club based in Odesa, Ukraine, with a long history of sporting and coaching activities. The club takes part in national and international competitions and develops athletes of different ages and experience levels.

The club is led by Oleksandr Cherfas (3 Dan) Kyokushin Karate practitioner and coach. During his competitive career, he became a multiple-time Ukrainian Champion and winner of national competitions. His international achievements include 1st place at the 2009 European Championship in Ivano-Frankivsk, 3rd place at the 2010 European Championship in Barcelona, and 2nd place at the 2013 European Championship of the IKO All Japan Kyokushin Union in Germany.

Oleksandr Cherfas has also competed in international events in Japan and Europe. In 2009, he placed 5th at the Rengokai World Cup in Osaka. His other achievements include 1st place at the 2007 Czech Open Championship in Prague and 4th place at the 2008 German Open Championship in Berlin, where he also received an award for Best Technique.

Among the trainees are champions and medalists of the official European Championships held in 2018 (Hungary), 2019 (Moldova), and 2024 (Hungary).

Under the guidance of Oleksandr Cherfas, Satori athletes regularly compete at Ukrainian championships and cups, as well as international tournaments. The club's students have achieved victories and podium finishes, representing Odesa and Ukraine at national and international events.

One of the club's key areas is competition preparation in both kata and kumite. Satori brings together practitioners who train in Kyokushin Karate, develop their physical fitness, technique and sporting skills, and gain competition experience under the guidance of an experienced coach.
