Itachi Dojo

Itachi Dojo is a Kyokushin Karate dojo in Sommelsdijk, Netherlands, led by Sensei André van Wezel, 4th Dan. André has practiced karate since 1991 and is a former competitor in the Netherlands and abroad. He also served as coach of the Dutch national selection for 6.5 years.

The dojo offers authentic Kyokushin Karate training with a strong focus on full-contact fighting and the effective application of techniques. Junior and senior practitioners from the age of 13 can train up to three times a week, developing technical skills, physical fitness, kumite and fighting ability. The training follows the traditional Kyokushin approach associated with Mas Oyama.

Children aged 6–12 are introduced to the fundamentals of Kyokushin Karate step by step. Youth training can be practiced recreationally or combined with preparation for competitions and tournaments. The dojo also offers personal training for practitioners looking for individual coaching with a martial arts specialist.

Itachi Dojo places strong emphasis on the club community and learning together. Throughout the year, the dojo organizes activities such as New Year training, beach training and sessions with guest instructors. The club also hosts the annual Cetradex Itachi Open, bringing karateka together from the Netherlands and abroad.

The dojo’s black belt team consists of Sensei André van Wezel, Senpai Iman Peeman, Senpai Alex Noordam, Senpai Valence Bickel, Senpai Marijn Groenendijk and Senpai Boudein Bickel.

Itachi Dojo combines traditional Kyokushin Karate, full-contact training and competition experience with a close-knit team environment, welcoming both active competitors and practitioners who want to begin or continue their development in Kyokushin Karate.
