Narushima Dojo is a Kyokushin Karate dojo located in Hamura, Tokyo, Japan, founded in September 2021 by Shihan Ryu Narushima. Known internationally as “The KO Master,” Narushima is a former elite competitor who built his reputation through exceptional knockout victories and outstanding technical skill in full-contact karate.
Ryu Narushima began practising karate at the age of five and later trained at the Kyokushin headquarters under Sosai Mas Oyama. His competitive achievements include multiple All Japan Weight Category Championship titles, third place at the first World Weight Category Championship in 1997, and eighth place at the 7th World Open Tournament in 1999, where he also received the award for best technique.
The dojo welcomes practitioners of all ages and experience levels, from children as young as three to adults in their seventies. Training programmes include classes for beginners, children, women, and adults, with a focus on kihon, ido geiko, kata, kumite, physical conditioning, and the development of technical precision and fighting ability.
Beyond regular training, Narushima Dojo organises grading examinations, training camps, special events, and demonstrations at local festivals. The dojo also offers specialised instruction for competitors, instructors, and practitioners seeking to deepen their technical knowledge through Ryu Narushima’s individual teaching methods.
The dojo's philosophy combines demanding technical training with the traditional values of karate: discipline, respect, perseverance, and personal growth. Whether students pursue competitive success, physical fitness, self-defence, or the deeper study of karate-do, Narushima Dojo provides an environment for continuous learning and improvement.
